Molecular Biology Reagents

The experiments carried out in molecular biology are complex. The long preparation periods and the high value of the samples are the reasons why analysts cannot assume the risk of having contaminations due to the use of non-appropriate reagents.
We have developed a new range of products particularly suited for molecular biology. These reagents not only are of high purity but also have passed specific application tests.

• Nucleases and proteases free. The absence of enzymatic activity in molecular biology reagents is a must. Otherwise, high value protein or nucleic acid preparations would be affected by an external and undetermined activity.

• High UV transparency. Since main detection systems in molecular biology are based on UV light, maximum UV transparency of reagents involved is needed. Our reagents for molecular biology are tested to guarantee maximum UV transparency.

• High purity. In molecular biology assays, concentration of analysed substance is usually very low. This is the reason why even a low content of impurities would affect to the results. In the quality control of our molecular biology reagents, special attention is paid to metal impurities. Low metal contents avoid interference with enzymatic reactions.

SOLVENTS FOR DNA AND PEPTIDE SYNTHESIS

Acetonitrile is used in the phosphoramidite method for DNA synthesis as a reagent itself or as a cleaning agent, after every synthesis step. Since absence of water improves synthesis yields, anhydrous acetonitrile must be used.
Our DNA and peptide synthesis grade solvents are manufactured and bottled under inert atmosphere to meet ultra-low water content specifications and maximum shelf life.
