HPLC SOLVENTS AND REAGENTS
Scharlau’s HPLC solvents are in the market since 1982 and are appreciated for its excellent and consistent quality.
In the meantime, we are working with a number of all-glass distillation plants, equipped with multi-plate columns and ability to operate under inert gas atmosphere. This allows us maximum flexibility and the possibility of using one plant per product, thus avoiding the problem of cross-contamination. We employ a number of pre-treatment methods in order to obtain products of outstanding specifications. With a series of new qualities and enhancements of our specifications, we have positioned ourselves in the forefront of maximum performance.

GRADIENT GRADE HPLC SOLVENTS
One of our premium products is the AC0331 Acetonitrile supra gradient HPLC grade, which is a reference product for gradient elution at very low wavelengths. Also available in gradient grade HPLC quality are the solvents Methanol, Ethanol and 2-Propanol.
To meet the stringent demands of gradient applications, our gradient grade HPLC products are quality controlled by a unique Gradient Elution Test. The actual chromatogram is printed on the label as is the actual UV-spectrum.

GPC GRADE TETRAHYDROFURAN
Specially stabilized Tetrahydrofuran is available for GPC (gel permeation chromatography). This Tetrahydrofuran can be used for column-storage, since it does not form damaging peroxides.

FLUORESCENT GRADE ACETONITRILE
Our AC0335 Acetonitrile, fluorescence HPLC grade is gradient and fluorescence controled. It is specially suitable for PAH analysis by HPLC.

Our new 4 l amber glass bottles combine total chemical compatibility with lower cost per litre.

ION PAIR REAGENTS AND BUFFERS FOR HPLC

Ion pair chromatography is done when the analytes of interest include ionic compounds that are difficult to separate by reverse phase chromatography. Ion pair reagents are added to the movil phase and combine with ionic analytes. The neutral compounds formed can be easily chromatographed by reverse phase HPLC.
The basic samples can be separated by addition of an alkyl sulphonate ion pair reagent.
The acidic samples can be separated by addition of quaternary ammonium salts or alkyl amine ion pair reagents.

We offer both cationic and anionic ion pair reagents in special HPLC grade qualities to assure trouble-free separations.
