GC RESIDUE G.S.
As more sensitive capillary GC and HPLC chromatographic methods are introduced, solvent purity must be improved to meet the more stringent analytical requirements. According to this, our pesticide residue analysis solvents have evolved to become our newly named GC RESIDUE GRADE SOLVENTS, which are extremely purified solvents not only suitable for the analysis of pesticides but also for other organic residues in environmental analysis.
We have tightened our specifications to assure that no interference peaks appear in the low boiling range, and we guarantee that:
* No GC-ECD sensitive interference peaks greater than 3 ppt, expressed as lindane, appear in the high boiling range (from lindane to decachlorobiphenyl). This assures suitability for organochlorine pesticides analysis.
* No GC-ECD sensitive interference peaks greater than 3 ppt, expressed as lindane, appear in the low and medium boiling range (from 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene to lindane). This assures suitability for high volatile halocarbon analysis.
* We have lowered the level of acceptable impurities from 5 ppt down to 3 ppt of lindane, which is used as an internal standard in our quality control analysis.
These are typical control chromatograms obtained after 500 fold sample concentration:

25 m, 0,25µm film thickness
Temperature program: 100ºC (3 min. hold),
10ºC/min – 270ºC (5 min. hold)
Injector Temperature: 225ºC
Detector temperature: 300ºC
Interval standard: 3 ppt lindane
Lindane Rt: 20,9 min
1,2,4-Trichlorobenzene Rt: 10,5 min

ULTRA TRACE GRADE n-HEXANE
Hexane is the solvent of choice in the high demanding environmental monitoring applications.
Our n-Hexane for ultra-trace organic residue analysis is guaranteed for trace residue analysis by capillary gas chromatography (GC). It has been specially purified by a multi-step process and packed under inert conditions to assure optimum performance. Each lot is quality controlled by means of capillary GC with an electron capture (ECD) and flame ionization (FID) detectors after concentration. Special control in the low boiling range is performed to guarantee the absence of ECD sensitive highly volatile impurities.
SUITABILITY FOR FID ANALYSIS
From 1-Octanol to 1-Tetradecanol, no peaks are obtained greater than 5 µg/l as 1-Tetradecanol (after 500 fold concentration).
Analytical conditions:
Column: methyl phenyl silicone, narrow bore, 0.25 mm I.D.,
25 m length, 0.25 µm film. Programmed from 50 °C to 200 °C
(Quadrex column # 007-2-25-0.25 F).
HIGHLY VOLATILE IMPURITIES (ECD ANALYSIS)
From carbon tetrachloride to bromobenzene, no peaks
are obtained greater than 1 mg/l as bromobenzene.
Analytical conditions:
Column: non polar, wide bore, 0.53 mm I.D., 50 m length,
3 µm film. Programmed from 40 °C to 150 °C (Quadrex column
# 007-624-50W-3.0 F).
